The opportunity    

We are seeking expressions of interest for a Team Leader Bitumen Patching for the Infrastructure Delivery Team.  This position will provide services in construction and maintenance of roads.

To be successful in this position, you should possess a relevant qualification and at least 3 years' experience in bitumen patching or road maintenance industry; at least 2 years' experience driving/operating bitumen patching trucks and sprayed bitumen sealing works; understand the principles of road patching, heavy patching and sprayed bitumen seals; and the ability to lead and supervise team members.  You should hold current Traffic Controller, Implement Traffic Management Plan, and Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plans certification; WHS Construction Induction Card, and HR or MR Drivers Licence (HR preferred).

Key accountabilities

The tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Organising and leading the team, and passing on skills and techniques to other members of the team to enable efficient use of manpower, plant and materials
  • Carrying out bitumen restoration works as required
  • Identify pavement defects on roads which may be critical to be repaired
  • Operating and carrying out routine maintenance works on the truck and ensuring plant is serviced and maintained in accordance with plant requirements
